My storytelling begins. Six months into my internship I am amazed at how much I have grown both emotionally and intellectually. Looking back, I had no confidence in myself and my abilities. I’ve grown so much under the great leadership of Louise Struwig and learnt that willingness leads to greatness.
I started working in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) department as a CPD Assistant with theoretical public relations knowledge. I began coordinating workshops in January 2016 and my biggest group at that time was only six people. But, today I am able to get 18 delegates to attend a workshop because of the opportunity to use my marketing skills. I developed strong interpersonal skills through telephonic marketing and meeting delegates. The people in the industry began to recognize me, preferring to talk to me on the phone to enquire about our workshops and the booking forms started pouring in. We have seen delegate numbers increase steadily over the last 2 months and that is a big achievement for me.
The moment you believe that you know it all, that’s where you blindfold yourself to be best.
I am humble enough to know that I’m not better than anyone, I am who I am because of everyone who has touched my life and molded my story.
