Ogilvy PROgilvy Public Relations won three awards at the African SABRE Awards, including the Platinum SABRE Award for the Best African Public Relations Campaign.

This win is after of the four accolades the agency received at the PRISM Awards 2017 early this month.

Ogilvy Public Relations won Platinum in the coveted Best in Show category for the Anglo American '#ProTestHIV' campaign, which showcased the mining giant’s efforts in the fight against HIV and AIDS in South Africa.

The agency also received Certificates of Excellence in the Gold SABRE Awards for Public Relations Campaigns (Southern Africa) for KFC South Africa’s burritos and Anglo American’s 'Makarapa City' campaigns.

The SABRE Awards is the world’s largest public relations awards programme, running across six continents. The African SABRE Awards was introduced following a partnership between the Holmes Group and the African Public Relations Association, to expand the presence of the SABRE Awards in Africa by showcasing the best work from across the continent.

National managing director of Ogilvy Public Relations, Joanna Oosthuizen, says, “We are honoured and humbled to have been recognised in Africa for our campaigns. This bears testament to the agency’s efforts to deliver work that makes our clients matter."

She adds, "The Anglo American '#ProTestHIV' campaign is inspiring, and shows the power of public relations to mobilise people to have conversations that raise awareness about serious social issues, such as the HIV and AIDS pandemic in South Africa. Campaigns such as these will go a long way to giving hope to the people of our country and the continent.”
