The PRISM Awards will officially be announcing the 2021 winners on Friday, 04 June 2021 at 16:00. The awards, in their 24th year, will be held virtually once again this year and public relations and communications enthusiasts and entrants will be given the opportunity to be part of the show and stream it live.

“This year, we are all about celebrating the work. I would like to thank all our excellent judges, who dedicated their time and selected the best work from this year’s entries. Their wealth of knowledge and experience is appreciated, and we thank each and every one for the continued support,” said Palesa Madumo, Convenor of the PRISM Awards.

In 2021, the awards introduced a new award, in recognition of the difficulties faced by the industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fee-free award focuses on work that was specifically created to solve a COVID-19 problem for clients or society. PRISA President Tebogo Ditshego had this to say about the 2021 Awards: “This year’s PRISA PRISM Awards takes place under tremendously challenging circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly shifting our modes of communication. Nevertheless, the Public Relations and Communication sector has risen to the occasion by being equal to the task of our duty to contribute to ensuring the public stays safe, while delivering outstanding work of significant value for our clients. Therefore, this is a special moment in the history of PRISA’s PRISM Awards as we are not only celebrating excellence but we are also paying homage to the enduring soul of our profession which stands as a true testament to the resilience of the human spirit.”

Viewers can also look forward to finding out who the winners are in some of the awards’ most popular categories such as PRISMs Young Voice (PYV) of the Year, Best Large Consultancy, Student Campaign of the Year and the coveted South African Campaign of the Year.
Television presenter and PRISM Awards favourite, Thabiso Makhubela returns as the host of the awards, and this year’s sponsors include, Novus Group, Eclipse Communications, Space, Bizcommunity and Vuma Reputation Management.
