Meet Lindiwe Majola: PRISA’s people-connector and Membership Coordinator

Lindiwe Majola has a unique journey within PRISA, one that’s not only about professional growth but also personal transformation. Over a decade ago, Lindiwe joined PRISA as a naturally reserved person who preferred her own space. Today, as PRISA’s membership coordinator, she thrives on connecting with diverse stakeholders, having grown from a shy professional into a confident liaison who values the power of communication.

Finding purpose and connection in PRISA

Lindiwe’s path to PRISA wasn’t meticulously planned. “I was just job-hunting, hoping to find a place where I could be part of a small team and interact with stakeholders,” she recalls. Now, she finds herself in a role that inspires her daily. “When I am at work, I focus of my duties and let go of any personal challenges,” she explains, a sentiment that highlights her dedication and love for the work.

A highlight in PRISA’s history

One of her proudest contribution was the PRISA’s 60th anniversary conference. Lindiwe’s role in organising this milestone event, which honoured long standing members and fellows, showed her the staying power of a strong brand.

“Seeing PRISA celebrated after all those years, meeting members who were once active – it reminded me how significant PRISA is in the lives of so many,” she adds.

Championing growth in an evolving industry

In her role, Lindiwe is dedicated to promoting PRISA’s value to members, encouraging them to see it as more than just a membership but as an investment in their careers. She also envisions a future where PRISA becomes a legislated entity, making membership an industry standard. For Lindiwe, education and continuous learning are essential to PR’s progress, especially as technology reshapes the industry.

The quiet power behind the scenes

Despite her role, Lindiwe describes herself as someone who enjoys quite moments and values introspection. “I am not talkative, but I do think deeply before I speak,” she shares.

Away from work, she spends quality time with her family, especially her daughter, whom she fondly calls “My Princess.” Her faith is also an essential part of her life, and she finds peace in reading the bible.

Lindiwe’s advise for aspiring PR professionals

In a field that’s always evolving, Lindiwe’s advise is simple but vital: “Keep learning, stay up to date with trends, and build connections.” She believes that adaptability and a commitment to growth are what keep PR professional ahead in the game.

With over 10 years at PRISA, Lindiwe Majola embodies dedication, quiet strength, and the kind of genuine connection that PRISA values in its community. As membership coordinator, she not only serves members but also champions the very mission that PRISA stands for.
