PRISA Western Cape Region relaunched

Dedication and commitment to reach out to PRISA Western Cape members in Cape time last night paid off immensely. PRISA held its long awaited extra ordinary meeting at the Cape of Good Hope Castle in Cape Town.

It was about time we had disruptive engagement which clearly proved that alone we can do so little but achieve more when we practice what we preach – Engage our stakeholders and collaborate.

After a grueling presentation on the state of the profession by Victor Sibeko – PRISA CEO, members tabled not only their concerns but solutions too. Sibeko poured his heart out saying “It will be an indictment on us as senior professionals to sit back and watch the professional body die.” It was evident that ideas grow better when transplanted into another mind than the one where they sprang up.

PRISA president Dr. Benecke shared her insights and recommendations including amongst others the need for activism. She said PRISA holds so much Intellectual Property, best practices and history of the profession and this must be gathered and shared with members.

PRISA’s ex-officials, past president Solly Moeng, Western Cape Region former chairperson Themba Ngada and respectable Reputation Matters consultant and facilitator Regine Le Roux, pulled no punches. They were vocal and played a significant role in robust discussion towards shaping the future of the Western Cape region which we highly appreciated.

We are convinced last night was the beginning of the Western Region revival and we look forward to re-energized region. Regional committee was nominated and it included the stalwarts, this team will lead PRISA back to its former glory. Teamwork begins by building trust. And the only way to do that is to overcome our need for invulnerability.

It was pleasing to see signs of revival and getting the stalwarts Solly Moeng, Themba Ngada and Regine Le Roux back on board to guide the re-establishment of the Western Cape Regional Committee.

PRISA is delighted to see fresh and enthusiastic professionals onto the fold. New members include Stefanje Hugo from Fox in the Box, Tedd Croukamp from Events Guys, Thoko Mdlalose a Communication Specialist and Abigail Mvunelo an entrepreneur, owner Plus Beauty Events.

Congratulations to the PRISA Western Cape Region relaunch. We would have not made it without the support of sponsors. Special thanks to Fox in the Box – Stefanje Hugo Meeting logistics, Cape of Good Hope Castle – Mr. Derek Williams for the Venue, Events Guys – Tedd Croukamp for Audio Visual and catering. We highly appreciate all your efforts and time in making the meeting a resounding success.
